Scala in the Enterprise

What does it take to get Scala adopted as the language of choice for an enterprise software company? Scala has many technical merits that make it attractive to programmers. However, to replace Java as an enterprise development language, technical people must "sell" Scala to the organization, by focusing on organization-wide considerations such as developer productivity, software quality, developer and tool availability, and many others.
NICE Actimize has adopted Scala as its primary language for building enterprise finance crime risk management solutions over two years ago. This talk will cover the reasons why Scala is a great fit to the financial space, discuss the decision process, the various pros and cons of the adoption, and tell a few real-world stories of the results of the adoption.
